The session on Humane Education was organised in the context of the recent directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India concerning the management of the stray dog menace and public awareness. Taking note of the increasing incidence of dog bite cases, particularly in and around educational institutions and other public spaces, the Hon’ble Court has emphasised the need for scientific awareness, responsible community participation, rabies prevention, vaccination and humane management of stray dogs in accordance with the law.
Library

Nirmala Institute of Education (B.Ed.) Library is equipped with a collection of about 13900 on various subjects related to education. It subscribes to various journals and newspaper. The library caters to about 200 students including the faculty .The library uses SOUL software. Students are issued a pass word to use the facilities of NLIST online journals. The library supports and helps the students and faculty at every stage to locate the information they are looking for Book bank facilities are also available for the students.
The library also maintains newspaper clippings of various topics which will be of great help to the students. Projects are also maintained in the library. The library has an in-house reprographic facility which the students use frequently.
The D.El.Ed Library caters mainly to the information needs of the D.El.Ed. and M.A. Wellness Counselling Courses. The Library has a peaceful and inviting ambience. It has a spacious well-lit and ventilated reading hall to enable the users to make best use of the various resources available. The library collection comprises mainly of textbooks, reference books and periodicals. It has approximately 2000 books for meeting the curriculum requirements of the faculty and students. An orientation session is conducted at the beginning of the academic year for the new students. The library aims to be ‘a guide to answers’ for its faculty and students.
