Course Inauguration - Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance & Counselling (PGDGC)

Undeterred by the heavy rains, the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling (PGDGC) 2023-24 batch along with the faculty members participated enthusiastically in the inaugural program and orientation held on 21st July,

The event started with a short video paying tribute to late Sr. Pushpica Coutinho and her immense contribution to the college. The traditional brass lamp was then lit by the officiating Principal, Faculty, students & members of the administrative staff. The students reflected on themes of Gratitude, Learning Self Awareness and Enthusiasm among other aspects as the lamp was being lit.

The officiating Principal, Dr. Delia Antao whilst welcoming the batch, spoke about the importance of reaching out to others and value of relationships.

The students, then broke out into two groups to connect &find ‘common ground’ amongst themselves before introducing themselves. This exercise and the tea break with delicious snacks helped to break ice and warm up interactions among all present.

Futurologist Alvin Toffler’s quote “The illiterate of the 21st century, will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn,” was projected in the background as the faculty members Ms Lucette Virginkar and Ms. Sulaxa

Gawas explained the syllabus and the structure of the course. The students were also familiarised with the expectations the Faculty had of them during the course programme. Faculty members Ms Linda Santos and Ms Mylin Gonsalves pitched in to clarify & answer the students’ questions.

The Co-ordinator of the course Ms Marlene Pereira anchored the entire programme.
