As part of the nationwide campaign to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) initiated by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE), Government of India, the Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho-Panaji, organized a Mass Pledge activity on campus. The pledge-taking ceremony at the Institute was organized in the college auditorium on 3rd October 2025 from 2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Gatekeeper Training Workshop for Suicide Prevention
Tuesday the 9th of February 2021, Atmashodha Counselling Cell, Nirmala Institute of Education organized a Gatekeeper training workshop for suicide prevention. It was held on the campus. Also the live streaming was done on YouTube so as to benefit all teacher trainees and community. Dr. Peter Castelino, the Director of COOJ Mental Health Foundation-Goa was the resource person for the session.
Dr. Peter led the session beautifully by explaining the importance of empathy that gatekeepers should possess and why we as a community need to actively intervene.
The most attractive part of this workshop was the display and decor of the Kites with the messages of suicide prevention by the First Year B.Ed. trainees.
