Inauguration of Eco Club

The Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho, Panjim, inaugurated the Eco Club on 21st December 2021. The event was attended by the Faculty, Staff and teacher trainees of the First Year B.Ed. students. The Eco- Club comprises of 25 members along with two Faculty coordinators, Mrs. Shylaja Sherief and Ms. Daniella Colaco. The College Director, Dr. Rita Paes and the Officiating Principal, Dr. Delia Antao unveiled the Scroll and inaugurated the club. Dr. Antao addressed the gathering and spoke on the need for Sustainable development. She also mentioned that the Eco Club must work towards its mission and achieve its objectives. Ms. Hycinth Gomes briefly listed the activities that will be undertaken by the club and announced the theme of the Club for this year as - ‘Treasure our Biodiversity’. A video on the need for conserving our biodiversity was screened for the audience. The members of the club presented a song, ‘We are the World’, which was then followed with vote of thanks by Ms. Gizelle Rodrigues.  

The program ended with the exchange of plant saplings amongst the students, in order to encourage and promote home gardens.
