A session on the topic 'Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (PoSH) Act 2013' was conducted for the F.Y. and S.Y.B.Ed. students of Nirmala Institute of Education Panaji on 10th March 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the NIE Hall. The session was led by Ms. Priya Shirodkar and Ms. Abigail Fernandes, students of LLB and members of the PoSH Compliance Clinic of V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar who shared valuable knowledge and guidance on the importance of creating a safe and respectful workplace environment for women.
“RUN FOR SWADESHI” – NATIONAL YOUTH DAY
Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho, Panaji organised the “Run for Swadeshi” programme on 12 January 2026 in compliance with the circular issued by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, in connection with the celebration of National Youth Day.
The event was flagged off at 9:30 a.m. from the college gate by the Principal, Dr. Russell D’Souza. The designated route for the run was from Nirmala Institute of Education to Joggers’ Park and back to the institute. Around 180 students and staff members actively participated in the programme, reflecting enthusiasm and collective responsibility.
Adequate safety measures were put in place, including supervision by faculty members and volunteers, along with the provision of water stations along the route. Refreshment was provided to the participants post run. The run was conducted in an orderly and disciplined manner and was successfully completed by 10:30 a.m.
The programme achieved its objective of promoting physical fitness, national awareness, and youth participation, and concluded on a positive and energetic note.
