The celebration of International Hindi Day at Nirmala Institute of Education was a resounding success, with Ms. Sangeeta Kadam at the helm as the responsible in-charge. The event showcased the diverse talents of our students, with Ms. Ritam Gaonkar and Ms. Apeksha Tendulkar leading the proceedings with grace and enthusiasm on 10/1/2024. There were 180 student-teachers in the audience.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome song that set the tone for the celebration. The students, adorned in vibrant costumes added a colourful and cultural touch to the event. Their commitment to showcasing the rich tapestry of Hindi culture was evident in every meticulously chosen detail of their attire.

Student-teachers from Hindi Methodology showcased their commitment to Hindi through the creation and release of a magazine called "Umang." Filled with their contributed articles and poems, the magazine was released with joy at the hands of the college's Principal. This literary initiative not only celebrated linguistic talent but also fostered a sense of community and appreciation for Hindi among the students. The Principal's involvement underscored the college's support for creative endeavours, enhancing both linguistic skills and a love for the Hindi language.

A poignant moment unfolded when a soul-stirring song dedicated to Hindi Day echoed through the hall. Vocalised passionately by Amitabh Bachchan, the melody resonated with the essence of the language, celebrating its beauty and significance. The choice to incorporate the work of renowned poet Shri Harivanshrai Bachchan into a dance performance added a poetic and artistic dimension to the celebration.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the skit written by Mr. Sheshnag Prasad Shrivastav derived from VI standard Hindi textbook prescribed by NCERT. The performance was a testament to Mr. Omkar Gaonkar and Ms. Kima D’Cruz’s creativity, bringing to life the essence of the lesson in a captivating and entertaining manner. The students embraced their roles with enthusiasm, leaving the audience both amused and enlightened.

The response from the student-teachers was overwhelming, as students and teachers alike expressed their delight and appreciation for the well-executed celebration. The seamless integration of various elements, from music to dance and drama, showcased the dedication and talent of our students.

The success of the International Hindi Day celebration was not merely measured in applause but in the palpable joy and satisfaction radiating from everyone present. It was a moment of unity, pride, and cultural celebration that left a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of all who attended, fostering a deeper appreciation for the Hindi language and its diverse expressions.

The celebration included lively activities like spot prizes, adding fun and testing knowledge. Students engaged in quizzes on muhavare (idioms) and Hindi word identification, creating an exciting and educational atmosphere. This interactive segment not only added excitement but also motivated students to enhance their understanding of Hindi language intricacies.
