The NIE-Eco Club marked Vana Mahotsav on 17th July, 2024 with a tree plantation drive on campus, aligned with the year's (2024) theme of 'Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience' under the slogan 'Our Land, Our Future'. Dr. Delia Antao, the officiating Principal, led the participation, joined by faculty, administrative staff, and Eco-Club students. Plant saplings were distributed to students during the event.
Installation featuring the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals
The eco club of Nirmala Institute of Education erected an installation featuring the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in the college garden on April 30th, 2024. Constructed using recycled paint can lids and pipes, the installation was created by second-year eco club members under the supervision of eco club faculty in charge, Ms. Daniella Colaco, Mrs. Shylaja Sherief, and visual arts faculty, Mr. Raymond Pereira. The installation, not only serves as a visually captivating addition to the campus landscape, but also stands as a powerful reminder of the institute's dedication to fostering environmental consciousness and promoting sustainable practices among its community members.
