Nirmala Institute of Education, Panaji, in collaboration with the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP), organised an awareness session on "Waste Management and Home Composting" for the First-Year B.Ed. students on 24th July 2026. The programme aimed to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable living among future teachers.
A session on 'Humane Education'
The session on Humane Education was organised in the context of the recent directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India concerning the management of the stray dog menace and public awareness. Taking note of the increasing incidence of dog bite cases, particularly in and around educational institutions and other public spaces, the Hon’ble Court has emphasised the need for scientific awareness, responsible community participation, rabies prevention, vaccination and humane management of stray dogs in accordance with the law.
The session focused on fostering empathy, compassion, and respect for all living beings while connecting human rights, animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
